Hannah Rudman now takes the final participation master class which is looking at Twitter and its uses.
• Clip your wings (140 characters) & find new freedom
• Public conversations
Bill Thompson tweets a lot about when he is having coffee but he also tells you were he is. Makes himself available in that way.
Live example: someone who joined us at 3pm.
So there was a discussion on Twitter about the event and why he wasn’t invited.
And he decided to gate crash… and came with his mouse.
Cue lots of wondrous surprise.
It turns out Bubblino (@bubblino) is a little robot who watches Twitter and creates bubbles if he is being talked about on the internet.
Appears to be a small liquid bubble creator that creates bubbles whenever a particular #hashtag is tweeted!
Hannah continues to say: we use Twitter because of its accessibility.
But is now being completely upstaged by Bubblino!
A Quick Twitter How To (according to Hannah Rudman)
Create an account, add picture and snappy bio.
Follow people and be followed. Add Hotmail, Gmail contacts if you wish.
The Twitter lexicon
@ – if preceding name then it means that tweet belongs to them
d – to send a message directly to someone
RT – Re Tweet the message. It’s a personal recommendation. You share stuff with your network and they are more likely to listen to you than the original source
http://tinyurl.com – shorten URLs. Most twitter clients do this automatically
Filter your experience
Make your Twitter experience manageable.
Searchable – use Twitter search to filter ‘keywords’
Skim – use desktop clients to skim info.
Set up Google Reader and just scan info as it comes in. If it’s more than a couple of days old, ignore it.
AmbITion Resources being left after today’s event
AmbITion website – will be pulling together info from the Roadshows and the rest of the project.
Will also include case studies, digital videos, academic reports and more.
Live blog – includes a journey of today’s event.
Final words on picking and using a social media tool
It’s got to be your method of putting out content that stands out from the noise.
Pick your method of creating content.

Adrian and Bubblino Interview:
I quickly interviewed Adrian about his plans for Bubblino at the end of the session.
It will follow him round conferences this year. Through Bubblino he’s got a speaking engagement at the Thinking Digital conference in Newcastle next month.
Anyone who wants their own can give him £200 and he’ll make one for them.
Bubblino’s also got some siblings, he makes other devices that react to digital media on the web.
Find out more on his website.
Where you there? What do you think about Bubblino? Would you buy one and why?
Let us know what you think in the comments.
